This photo was made a while ago on a crisp fall day, on a family walk.

There was a clearing of a storm. The big clouds and the golden strip of light are what caught my eye.

Thank you for taking a look at my photos and posts. Have a great Thanksgiving Day with your family.

Enjoy the simple things that are right in front of you.

Get Some Perspective https://www.michaelsagephotography.com/blog/2012/11/Get-Some-Perspective

Here are forgotten railroad tracks that were once busy with cars loaded with product.

As I stood there staring down the tracks nothing in the scene really stood out to be photographed. It was a rainy day and what initially drew my attention was the saturated colors. I walked around a bit, left and then right. Then it made complete sense. I knew how I would make the photograph. Dah! I laid down on my stomach and there they were, my leading lines.

It pays off to walk around, get high, get low and survey all perspectives before just snapping away. I’m happy with the result.

You might think the photos taken in a remote rural area. Nope. I was driving in an industrial area in Irvine, CA.

It’s In The DNA https://www.michaelsagephotography.com/blog/2012/11/It-s-In-The-DNA

Walking back from the end of the pier; the family and I stumbled (almost literally) on this tidy row of freshly caught fish.

I thought it was pretty cool how the fisherman lined em’ up according to size creating a visual display of his catch. Stuff like that reinforces my thought that everybody is creative and that human’s have an inherent need to communicate through art. Whether they think they are creative or not it’s in the DNA.

Cart Tunnel https://www.michaelsagephotography.com/blog/2012/11/Cart-Tunnel

I just finished checking out at Ikea and was walking to the exit. As I walked I saw light streaming from the cart storage area. I looked in and it was interesting. I wasn’t quite sure what I was gonna do with it but I felt there was a photograph here.
I noticed the long leading lines and decided to use them to anchor the shot. After several different compositions I used this one and felt it could use a vertical crop.

Happy weekend!

Dappled Light https://www.michaelsagephotography.com/blog/2012/11/Dappled-Light

This photo is another Whoa! moment. I turned the corner at work noticed the light had changed. I looked up into the vehicle wash bay and saw this beautiful dappled light dancing around. I instantly new it would make a great B&W. I whipped out my camera phone and made the image.

Some bystanders were standing around fueling their vehicles. I could see them kinda looking up and the expression on their faces were like, “what’s this guy taking a photo of”? and “Is there a bird’s nest up there or something?” Nope, just magic I thought.

I like the way there is a transition from dark to light coming from the bottom right of the photograph.

Try again. https://www.michaelsagephotography.com/blog/2012/11/Try-again

OK, I’m gonna try it again. A “photo of the day” or a “spontaneous photo upload “or a “Visual Outburst”. Whatever you wanna call it?

This image was made during a sporadic rain down pour on Kauai. My step brother and I were out driving around the island chasing photos.

Sometimes you go out with an idea in your head of what you want to make photographs of and you usually come back with something completely different. I love the process.
It was definitely worth the drenching.
